Short answer: To enable event tracking on a link, create (or open) the link in ShortPen and switch on Enable Tracking Events in the link settings before you save. Conversions will then be attributed to that URL when your defined events fire.
Tip: Advanced, full-detail analytics (segmentation, multi-link analysis) are available on paid plans. You can still enable event tracking on any plan, limits may apply.

Prerequisites

  • The ShortPen Pixel is installed on the site where the event occurs.
  • At least one Event already defined.
1

Go to Links → New Link

2

Enter the Destination URL

Choose your Domain and Slug, and (optionally) add Title, Folder, and Tag.
3

Wait for pixel detection

When a valid ShortPen pixel is found on the destination page, you’ll immediately see a Pixel detected badge and the Enable tracking events toggle directly under the Destination URL.
4

Toggle on Enable tracking events

This flags the URL so conversions from your events can be tied back to this link.
5

Create Link

Share your URL. When users click/scan and later trigger your event, conversions will appear in analytics for this link.

Enable event tracking on an existing URL

Open the URL, switch on Enable tracking events, and save. Only actions that happen after you enable it will be attributed to that URL.

FAQ

No. UTMs don’t fire events. They enrich attribution. Events depend on your pixel and event setup.
At the link level (for a single URL) and in workspace analytics (aggregated). Use filters by tag/folder to report by campaign.
