Short answer: Sign up with your email, confirm your address, then enter your Organization name (and optional logo). ShortPen creates your Organization as the root container for everything, and adds a default Workspace you can rename or keep as-is.

Before you start

  • Have a work email you can verify and the name you want to use for your Organization.
  • A square logo (PNG/SVG) is optional and can be added later from org settings.

Create your account and Organization

Sign up

Open ShortPen and create an account with your email and a secure password. You’ll be prompted to create your Organization immediately after sign-up.

Verify your email

Check your inbox and complete the verification link. If you don’t see it, check spam or ask your IT to allowlist transactional emails.

Name your Organization

Enter the Organization name that represents your company or project and upload a logo if you have one.This Organization becomes the single top-level container for domains, workspaces, users, etc.
You can own only one Organization per account, though you can join others by invitation.

Review your default workspace

After the Organization is created, a default Workspace is added automatically so you can start creating links right away.Rename it, or keep it and create additional workspaces later (plan limits apply).

Invite teammates (optional)

You can invite collaborators now or later and assign roles.

Tips and good practices

  • Use your legal or widely recognized brand name so teammates and clients can recognize it in invites and dashboards.
  • Add your logo for consistent branding in analytics and shared assets.
  • If you operate as an agency or multi-brand team, plan your workspace naming before inviting users to keep data clean and isolated.

FAQ

Ensure the name field is filled. If you see a “reserved” message, try a different name. If your email verification isn’t complete, resend the verification link from the banner.
ShortPen allows owning one Organization per account.To manage multiple companies, get invited to their Organizations instead, or structure your own with separate workspaces.
