Short answer: Your Organization is your company’s umbrella in ShortPen. The place where you centralize domains, pixels, teams, and global settings. Each user owns one Organization, but can be a member of others if invited. Work actually happens inside Workspaces that live under your Organization.

What an Organization is (and what it holds)

Think of the Organization as your top-level container. Here, you manage the company name/logo, members and roles, connected custom domains and tracking pixel that can be used across workspaces. An Organization typically includes Domains, Workspaces, Users & Permissions, and API Keys. So global resources stay consistent and secure while individual workspaces remain independent.

Why only one Organization per account?

ShortPen uses a single-owner model so billing, identity, and company-level assets stay unambiguous. You can join other Organizations for agency or partner work without mixing data.

Organizations vs Workspaces

  • Organization: global umbrella; set up Domains, Pixels, Teams/Roles, and other company-wide settings once. These resources are available across your workspaces.
  • Workspaces: the operational unit for a project, brand, or client. Each workspace has its own links, QR codes, events, and analytics, yet inherits the Organization’s domains and users.
Plan basics: Free starts with 1 workspace and 1 custom domain. Paid plans unlock more Workspaces and collaborators.

Roles and permissions at the Organization level

How global resources flow down

  • Custom domains: connect once at the Organization. Pick them when creating links in any Workspace.
  • Pixels: create centrally, assign to one or more Workspaces to track events/conversions.

Typical setups

  • Single brand/team One Organization → one or a few workspaces (e.g., “Marketing”, “Product”). Global domains/pixels used across them.
  • Agency One Organization → one workspace per client to isolate links, events, and analytics. Team members get the least-privilege access they need.
