Before you start
- You already created the event you want to modify.
- If you expect conversions to be recorded after your changes, ensure the ShortPen Pixel is installed and the link has event tracking enabled.
How to edit an event
- Open Events in your workspace sidebar.
- Select the event you want to update.
- Rename (optional): Give it a clear, consistent name. (This keeps reports tidy.)
- Update the trigger
- Save your changes.
Changes affect future tracking only. Analytics are not retroactive.
How to disable (pause) an event
- In Events, find the event.
- Toggle itoff and confirm Pause.

Shopify’s predefined e-commerce events (e.g., Add to Cart, Purchase) are not editable as custom events in ShortPen. Manage them inside the ShortPen app in Shopify, where you can enable/disable each event.
