# How to customize Social Share Previews in ShortPen

**Short answer:** Open your link, go to **Custom share preview**, set **Image** (recommended 1200×630), **Title**, and **Description**, then **Save**. Social networks pull this Open Graph data for the preview card.

## Set the social title, description, and image

1. Open **Links** → select your link → **Edit**.
2. In the left panel, open the **Custom Share Preview**.
3. Upload an **Image** (recommended **1200×630 px**), add a concise **Title**, and a clear **Description**.
4. Click **Save** to apply the preview to this ShortPen link across platforms (Facebook, LinkedIn, X/Twitter, Slack, etc.). This overrides the destination page’s own metadata.

## What each field controls (and best practices)

* **Image**

  The card thumbnail. Use brand-safe imagery with minimal text. Prefer 1200×630, JPG/PNG, under 5 MB. Keep faces/logos away from edges to avoid crops.
* **Title**

  40–60 characters works well across platforms. Front-load the key benefit.
* **Description**

  80–140 characters is a good target. Write a single, action-oriented sentence.
