# How to view analytics for your first ShortPen link

**Short answer:** Link Analytics in ShortPen gives you a focused view of how a single link performs. You’ll find metrics about engagement (clicks and QR scans), audience (sources, devices, locations), and impact (events and conversions if you use the Pixel).

This overview explains what you can explore inside the Analytics view and how it fits into broader reporting.

## Before you start

Before exploring Link Analytics, make sure:

* You’ve [**created and shared at least one ShortPen link**](/getting-started/create-first-link).
* (Optional, for conversions) The [**ShortPen Pixel**](/getting-started/install-shortpen-pixel) is installed and [**events are defined**](/getting-started/create-first-event) on your destination domain.

## What Link Analytics shows

Link Analytics brings together everything you need to evaluate a link’s performance at a glance.

When you open a link’s Analytics view, you can:

* **Check engagement:** total clicks and QR scans, with charts showing performance over time.
* **Identify sources:** understand which channels or referrers drove visitors to your link.
* **See device and browser data:** optimize your landing experience for mobile or desktop users.
* **Understand geography and language:** validate targeting and reach across countries.
* **Review outcomes:** if event tracking is enabled, view [**conversion data**](/analytics/link-level-analytics/link-conversion-analytics) linked to your campaigns.

> **In short:** it’s where you confirm whether your link is reaching the right people, through the right channels, and leading to the right results.

## What you can do in the Analytics view

The Analytics page is interactive and flexible, letting you:

* [**Adjust the date range**](/analytics/link-level-analytics/analytics-filters-settings) to focus on a specific campaign period.
* **Visualize data** through charts and breakdowns to spot patterns and spikes.
* **Compare insights** across sources, devices, and regions.
* **Explore conversion data** when using the Pixel, connecting engagement to results.
* [**Share or export**](/analytics/reporting/analytics-sharing) analytics if your plan allows, to collaborate or report externally.

If you want to dive deeper, for example, apply advanced filters or compare multiple links, you can do so from [**Workspace Analytics**](/analytics/workspace-level-analytics/workspace-level-metrics).
